To the Desert We Go

Poolside in Palm Springs

This time next week we'll be leaving for our trip to LA and Palm Springs. Whenever I think of Palm Springs, I think of the 90210 episode where Dylan and Brenda skip school and go to Palm Springs instead. Anyone?

Fog Happens

The past few mornings we've been waking up to what looks like the set of Lord of the Rings. Until about 10 a.m. we've been completely engulfed in fog and then it will turn sunny, 70 and beautiful for the rest of the day. I kind of love it. Here's a view from our back deck. Did you know that Oakland was rated by Rand McNally as having the best weather in the country? (source)

Oh yeah and did I tell you we live in a tree house?

Morocco

Last night, my husband and I had a long conversation about travel and we listed all of the places we want to go. That list is pretty long but one of the places that is in the top ten is Morocco.  I would go just for the textiles and patterns alone. Where's one place you're dying to go?

Good Company

A new wedding studio, called Good Company has opened in San Francisco and I think it's stunning! Don't you agree? It looks like the perfect place to plan a wedding. More photos can be found here.

The Everywhere Project

Loving all of the designs over at The Everywhere Project. "The Everywhere Project is a collaborative design project that pays tribute to the classic folk song “I’ve Been Everywhere”." Such a fun idea.

Clean and Simple

Although this home is beautiful, I don't think I'd be able to live there because I spill everything. Red wine, tea, even ice cream...ya, this just wouldn't work out. More photos can be found here.

From Barn to Home

A dream of mine is to find an old, rundown barn and completely renovate and convert it into a home like this one. Sounds like a lot of work but I'm sure the outcome would be way worth it. Find more converted barns here.

Here and There

Tomorrow will mark our 6 month anniversary living in California. (Crazy!) One of my favorite parts of living here is that there's always somewhere new to go so we make it a point to try and go someplace different every weekend. Here are a few of the places we've gotten to see so far. California is a beautiful place.

In the Garden

One of my favorite things about our new home is that we have a pretty large deck and with all the sunshine that California gets, we've been able to start our very own garden. We're currently growing tomatoes, green peppers, mint, basil, chives, rosemary and parsley. Since we have to keep in mind the lack of rain we also have a few different varieties of drought friendly succulents. Gardening is pretty addicting.
